“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” ― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!

Learning all things Israel
We had a really lovely day yesterday when Sarah Livne (Ameer's mum) came in to teach us some wonders about Israel and the language of Hebrew. We learned so much and Ilay was our translator in the afternoon when we did a reflection about our learning. I can't wait to have other families come and share their cultures with us.

Room 12: this is such a special way to get to know other cultures and how lucky you were to have Sarah to teach you about Israel and Hebrew. Just as well you had Ilay to help you with translations on your reflection. Your reflection had so much valuable information on it. Well done and, like Mrs Frisby, I can't wait to find out about other families who come into your classroom to share their cultures with you.
ReplyDeleteI loved coming along to watch the planting of an almond tree near the ESOL block with Sarah Livne. It was fabulous to hear her explanation about the planting of trees in Israel and what it means to them. Keep watering that little tree! I wonder how big it will be when you are in Year 6?
